Wow!  We have been busy here at Playmasters Recreation!  It has been a fantastic year for us and we are busy creating more and more new playgrounds here in the southeast.  We haven’t even had time to post here for a few weeks, so we thought it would be a good time to catch up just a bit.  Playmasters completed a new Alabama Playground a few weeks ago in Florence, Alabama.  This Alabama playground was constructed at Faith Church and is a great addition to their beautiful facility.  Check out the pictures below for a closer look… 

 The materials used in the construction of this commercial playground project are as tough as they come.  We use a special structural polymer in the construction of all of our playgrounds.  Our polymer never rusts, rots or deterioates like metal and wood products.  What does this mean to you?  Well it means that you can trust our products to last a lifetime!  Another plus is that our polymer comes from recycled plastics.  We are pleased to help the environment while manufacturing fun playgrounds for our children!

Playmasters Recreation http://www.playmasters.info has been hard at work building playgrounds again in Georgia.  We haven’t had time to catch up here about our playground equipment in a while due to our busy construction schedule.  This past week we were in Thomson, Georgia building two very nice playgrounds.  The first was a preschool playground area that was designed for children ages 2-5 years.  This playground equipment featured a rock climber, a double slide, a star gate slide, a crawl tunnel and a bubble panel.  Of couse the playground structure was constructed of Playmasters Recycled Plastic decks, posts and structural components.  With these design features, this playground will not rot, rust or deterriorate even while exposed to the harsh outdoor elements.  You will find that our structural plastics will last longer than wood or metal playgrounds exposed to exterior elements.

 The second Playmasters playground structure that we designed and constructed included a structure for elementary age children from 5-12 years of age.  This playground equipment has many, many features.  Some of which include double rock climbing walls, Star Gate Slides of various heights, double crawl tunnels and many, many other Playmasters options.  

We have included a few pictures of each of these playgrounds below.  Keep in mind that the fence and other finish items will be completed by the property owner next week.  So, when the finishing touches are done, we will post more pictures of the completed project here for your convenience.

Many times here at Playmasters Recreation we are asked for advice pertaining to playground equipment. We design and build many different playgrounds in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Georgia. Some of those playgrounds include swings and some do not. You might ask why some did not include a swing set in the design. Well, most of the time, it is a simple reason… lack of space.

Playground swings require a unique amount of space to be installed in a safe manner. This space in the front, rear and on each side is commonly referred to as a “safety fall zone.” That is the area around the swing that does not include any other piece of playground equipment or other object that could cause an injury if a child were to come in contact with it while swinging. Typically the fall zone including the front and the rear of an eight foot high swing takes up at least thirty two feet. That is the simple reason that some playgrounds do not include swings…

Another good playground equipment topic is the safety surfacing. I know, that is not playground equipment. However, it is just as important as the equipment. Anytime a piece of playground equipment is installed, there should be the proper amount of safety surfacing also installed under the equipment. Playmasters Recreation can provide Woodcarpet and chipped rubber safety surfacing for your playground. All we need to help with your need is the length and width of your playground. With that information we can determine the proper amount of surfacing for your play area.
